Our Work

Discipleship

Our discipleship team is available for Afghans who have recently decided to follow Christ, and to help encourage and support other believers in our community. Supported by our media and translation resources, discipleship leaders across our network hold weekly one-on-one meetings and small group Bible studies to cultivate spiritual maturity and strengthen unity among believers. These brothers and sisters study the Bible together and encourage one another through prayer and fellowship, to face the challenges of living under the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, and the uncertainty of being a refugee for those who have relocated.

Since the end of 2024, we have been able to establish three Ministry Centers in Central Asia to allow believers to meet in person; this has proved to be a great source of comfort to believers who are able to pray and fellowship in person together.

Church Planting

There are currently 22 Afghan houses churches in the Central Asia Network. Through our discipleship and leadership programs, we seek to equip and train more Afghans for pastoral ministry among future church plants. Many of these leaders continue to face security challenges, but are committed to building up the body of Christ. Within our churches, we maintain a strong emphasis on theological training and discipleship—foundational elements we believe are essential for building healthy church and also a community through which more Afghans will come to faith.

Media

Our media ministry reaches out to Afghans scattered throughout the world. We host a podcast in Dari, which includes Bible stories and teaching to help Christians grow in their faith, as well as to evangelize to the lost. In addition to the podcast, our media team posts shorter lessons and testimonies on platforms like Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.

Our follow-up team connects with individuals who engage with these posts, answering questions and responding to comments. Through this follow-up, we aim to clarify the truth of the Gospel. By God’s grace, we have seen many Afghans profess faith.

In 2025, we expanded our media ministry to include Pashto resources. We receive regular responses from Pashto speakers, leading to further conversations with our follow-up team.

We are so encouraged that thousands of Afghans continue to hear and respond to the Gospel call of Jesus as a result of the media ministry.

Women’s Ministry

A third of the members involved in our Bible studies across our network are Afghan women. Our Women’s Ministry gathers a few times a week, both in-person and online through video calls. During these gatherings, women study the Bible together, and also lift one another up through prayer. Our Women’s team leaders also disciple many women individually, mentoring them in their relationships, marriages, and their walk with the Lord.

Translation

In partnership with various authors and publishers, our translation team works diligently to provide healthy resources in Afghan languages. These resources play a pivotal role in strengthening the faith of Afghan believers by explaining the rich truths of God’s Word in their own language. It is our desire to continue to translate resources to equip and serve Afghan believers throughout the world.

Leadership and Theological Training

Our discipleship program encourages believers to participate in our Foundation Course, which is a 26 week course that tracks the story of the Bible from Genesis through Revelation and explains core theological concepts.

A subsequent program, the Leadership Training Course, is provided for potential pastors and leaders, addressing matters such as preaching and ecclesiology. This theological training includes online teaching, homework tasks, Bible memorization, discipleship teaching tasks, and additional reading to enrich understanding. Aside from this program, the leaders in our network continue to receive personal mentorship and support as they built their ministries.

60 believers have completed the Leadership Training Course, and seven churches were planted among Afghans in 2024.
